Easy Day Trips from Okotoks

Okotoks Nissan

One of the really nice things about living in Okotoks is that we’re so close to Calgary, AB, one of the most exciting and entertaining cities in all of Canada, let alone the province. On a good day with reasonable traffic, we’re only a half hour away from the big city, which means day trips in that direction are a piece of cake, especially when you’re behind the wheel of your new Nissan automobile.

According to several people here at Okotoks Nissan, the following are some of the more worthwhile day trips to the Calgary area:

Heritage Park Historical Village – There is so much to do here that you really could make several trips and never do exactly the same thing twice. There are midway rides, an old steam train, heritage buildings and homes, shops, exhibits, and restaurants galore. It is essentially one big “living museum” and one fun blast from the past for a day!

Fish Creek Provincial Park – This gorgeous slice of nature in the cityscape of Calgary is lovely, with 54 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and running. Scenery doesn’t get much more lovely!

The Calgary Zoo – Open year-round, the Calgary Zoo features over 1,000 animals from all over the world, but there’s also a lovely botanical garden filled with gorgeous flora and a Prehistoric Park that satisfies kids who love dinosaurs.

Of course, for jaunts like this it’s always smart to drive a 2017 Nissan Rogue or 2017 Nissan Maxima considering how spacious and comfortable they are for trips. Feel free to stop by our dealership any time to test drive one of these great road trip cars, and we’d love to hear about your favorite day trip spots in Calgary and the rest of Alberta!
